Daytrip to Cefalù

Cefalù is known for the beautiful sunsets, appealing Italian seaside and sandy beaches.
Cefalù has a picturesque historic town on a rocky highland.
Unfortunately, because of the rainy weather I couldn’t enjoy my time in Cefalù on the beach.
But that didn’t take the beauty of this Sicilian town away.
Together with the Erasmus group, I enjoyed my time in this town which was written on my bucketlist!

Thank you for this beautiful picture Gertruda!

We went to the top of the Rocca (hill) and we had the most amazing view!
Hiking to this top takes only around 20 minutes.

The Arab-Norman cathedral of Cefalù is protected by the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There are many photogenic spots in this city and many small typical streets.
This medieval town is so postcard-pretty!

Of course I had to try the seafood here. I took the pasta with mushroom crème and langoustine. It tasted as good as it looked ❤ :

Of course Davide/the Sicilian Ed Sheeran had to bring his guitar with him. guitar.jpg

Fun facts:

This Averna commercial is filmed in Cefalù:
Check it out on Youtube –> Averna Commercial

Also the Sicilian director Guiseppe Tornatore chose to set parts of his much-loved film Cinema Paradiso here.

In Cefalù you will find the oldest “Laundry Service” of the world and it looks like this:

That was a resume of my daytrip.
